Terms & Conditions

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Index Cloud mobile and web applications ("Services") provided by Index Informatics Systems Pvt. Ltd. ("Index", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1) Who May Use the Services

• You must be 14 years or older. If you are 14–17, you represent you have parental/guardian consent as required by law.
• You must reside in India. The Services are currently offered for India only.

2) Your Account

• Provide accurate information and keep it updated.
• Keep your credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
• We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or law.

3) The Services

Index Cloud displays solar system telemetry by connecting your system to your Wi-Fi and our servers.

• Features may include plant creation, device onboarding, telemetry visualization, alerts (offline, faults), and optional location mapping.
• We may modify or discontinue features, or perform maintenance, at any time.

4) Permissions & Devices

• Some features need optional permissions (location, camera, storage, notifications). The app functions without optional permissions, but related features may not work.
• You are responsible for the safety and configuration of your on-premise devices and Wi-Fi. Index does not control your inverter or electrical installation.

5) Plant Sharing

You can invite others (e.g., installers) to view plant data. You are responsible for whom you share with and what you share (including optional location). You can revoke access at any time.

6) Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Access or use the Services in a way that harms, interferes, or overloads our infrastructure;
• Bypass security, probe or scan systems, or attempt unauthorized access;
• Misuse the Services to violate law, infringe IP rights, or invade privacy;
• Upload malware, harmful code, or content you lack rights to;
• Use the Services to provide competing services without permission.

We may investigate violations and cooperate with law enforcement.

7) Content & IP

Your Content. You retain rights to content you upload (e.g., photos, plant names). You grant Index a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Services.

Index IP. The Services, software, and documentation are owned by Index and licensed to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

8) Third-Party Services

Maps are provided by Google and Apple (per their terms). We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or accuracy.

9) Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use data and is incorporated into these Terms. By using the Services, you agree to the Privacy Policy.

10) Service Availability & Changes

The Services are provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation or data accuracy.

We may change or discontinue features; where changes are material, we will provide notice.

11) Disclaimers

Telemetry and status data may be delayed or unavailable due to device connectivity, third-party networks, or maintenance.

We will work with you in good faith to address and resolve concerns. This section replaces any compensation, indemnity, or court/jurisdiction provisions.

13) Termination

• You may stop using the Services at any time and may delete your account in-app (where available) or via support.
• We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, legal requirements, security risks, or extended inactivity.
• Upon termination, your license ends and your access stops. Our data deletion timelines are described in the Privacy Policy.

14) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you in-app, by email, or via website banner. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
